Effective Date: August 19, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services operated by PSYCHE PROJECT PBC ("Psyche," "we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation. They cover Peli, our mobile app for iOS and Android, and our website at psyche.you (together, the "Services").
Peli is the app; Psyche is the company that operates it.
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
To use the Services, you must:
If you are 18 or older, you must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and you agree to these Terms on your own behalf.
If you are 16 or 17, you may use the Services only with the knowledge and agreement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Your account is otherwise unrestricted, but you are still a minor and someone with legal capacity has to agree to these Terms for you.
From 16, nothing in the Services is withheld on grounds of age — including the choice to contribute your answers to research, which is opt-in for everyone and never assumed.
If you are under 16, you may not use the Services and we will not create an account for you.
By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
An account is required to access most features of the Services, including taking assessments and viewing your results. Some limited features may be accessible without an account. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
You are responsible for:
We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
Each user may maintain only one account. We reserve the right to terminate duplicate accounts.
Psyche provides a psychological assessment platform that includes:
Core assessments and features are available at no charge. The Services also offer optional paid items — including in-app purchases and subscription plans — where these are available to you. Each is presented with its price, billing period and renewal terms at the point of purchase, and those terms apply in addition to these.
Depending on where you buy, purchases are processed either by the Apple App Store or Google Play, or by Stripe on our own web checkout. The processor is shown to you before you pay, and it determines where you manage or cancel what you bought: a store purchase is managed in that store's account settings, and a web purchase is managed in your Psyche account settings. See our Refund Policy for how refunds, cancellations and the EU right of withdrawal work.
Where a paid option is offered as a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, it does not renew and is not billed again.
Where an option is described as lifetime, that means for as long as we offer the product it applies to — not for the lifetime of any person, and not a promise that the product will exist forever. If we discontinue the Services, or discontinue the feature a lifetime purchase unlocked, that access ends with it. We say this plainly because the alternative — implying access nobody can guarantee — is the part that would be misleading.
A lifetime purchase is tied to the account that bought it. It cannot be transferred, and it does not stack with or convert an existing subscription: if you hold a subscription and buy lifetime, you should cancel the subscription yourself, or it will keep billing alongside it.
We may apply reasonable fair-use limits to features whose cost to us scales with how much they are used, including AI-generated content. Where we do, the limits will be generous enough that ordinary use never meets them, and we will tell you before applying them to something you have already bought.
THE SERVICES ARE NOT A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL. Assessment results are provided for personal insight, self-exploration, and educational purposes only. Results do not constitute:
Nothing on the Services should be construed as professional psychological, medical, or mental health advice. If you have concerns about your mental health, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Your assessment results may vary based on factors including:
Results represent a snapshot in time and should be interpreted with these limitations in mind.
Some features use artificial intelligence to generate insights and narratives. AI-generated content:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice or liability.
The Services, including all content, features, assessments, algorithms, and software, are owned by Psyche or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as feedback). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process that content to operate and improve the Services.
Your assessment responses and results are your personal data, subject to our Privacy Policy. However, the assessment instruments, scoring algorithms, and normative data are our intellectual property.
Building and validating the assessments is part of how the Services work, and it is covered by these Terms rather than by a separate consent. Your results are reported against population norms, and those norms — along with the reliability and validity statistics that tell us whether an assessment measures what it claims — are computed from everyone's answers. Every output of that work is a population statistic: a mean, a standard deviation, a coefficient. No individual data is linked or exposed, and nothing individual-level leaves Psyche. You can object to it at any time; see the Privacy Policy.
Research consent is separate, and it is what lets your data leave. If you opt in through your account settings, three things become possible that are not otherwise: your pseudonymized individual-level answers may be included in datasets shared with vetted external researchers under agreement; we may contact you about studies you are eligible for; and we may store the four special-category demographic answers described in the Privacy Policy, which we will not store at all without it. This is entirely voluntary and does not affect your access to the Services.
Whether or not you opt in, your answers may be used to build normative datasets, to validate and improve our assessments, and to train models that score them — always as population-level statistics, never as individual rows leaving Psyche.
If you opt in, your pseudonymized individual-level data may additionally be included in datasets shared with vetted external researchers under a data-use agreement, and included in aggregate research findings we publish.
Fully anonymized, aggregated data — where the research identifier has been destroyed and no individual can be identified — may be shared or licensed to third parties for permitted purposes only:
You may withdraw your research consent at any time. Previously anonymized data that has already been incorporated into datasets cannot be removed, as it is no longer linked to your identity.
For complete details, see our Privacy Policy and Research Data Policy.
Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Services, you consent to our data practices as described therein.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PSYCHE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, OR (B) $100 USD.
You acknowledge that these limitations are an essential part of these Terms and that we would not provide the Services without them.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Psyche and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
Before initiating formal dispute resolution, you agree to contact us at support@psyche.you and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will be conducted:
The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
YOU AND PSYCHE AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
The following disputes are not subject to arbitration:
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement by sending written notice to support@psyche.you within 30 days of creating your account. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any litigation not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Services and delete your account.
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@psyche.you.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include violation of these Terms, extended inactivity, or discontinuation of the Services.
Upon termination:
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Psyche regarding the Services.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Psyche.
